Wednesday..

Our first Christmas card arrived today!

 It's from Sully in Texas!
Sully wrote that he is a scottie and does what he wants!
Dui's the same, that's why he 's not in the photo.
(And he didn't get a treat.)
THANKS, SULLY!
We only sent ours out last Friday.

People say the darnedest things!

SHE was visiting a friend this morning--a friend who was cleaning out her fridge.
Innocently, the friend asked,
'Would your dogs eat this?'

 What do you think....
It sure was good.....

Watchdogs....

We're watching HER repack the meat into smaller portions.

And, no, SHE didn't drop any OR share.....

Helpful. Dui..

You want this bacon grease?
Don't want it to go to waste...

Seasonal visitor

Froggy arrived last night.
He was there when we went out just before bed.
Bella greeted him with a kiss--we think it was a kiss.
After a few photos....flash in the dark...

he disappeared.
Apparently, he doesn't like the camera.

I don't like.....
 Sunscreen
 On my nose.

And it is unfair that the scotties don't wear it...

Wednesday Excitement....

Look what was just sitting on our little verandah yesterday!
Picture enlarged....SHE didn't get that close.
 A filigree Siberian hamster RAT!

SHE raced to get the camera and it disappeared.
SHE raced out the side door and it was
there........looking at HER!
Being a typical blogger, SHE took its picture,
and retreated!
When SHE looked back, it was climbing our security door!
That's when we noticed and...um...rolled in the welcome mat!
It fell off the door....
sat around the side of the house to recover and then disappeared.
Bella

When we were finally allowed out, we searched EVERYWHERE!
But it was gone.

We're back...

after being abandoned and incarcerated for 5 days!

We nearly ripped her jeans off we were so excited to be released!

Actually, we don't mind the kennel, but don't want HER to know.
We love home best.

This time, Bella had a sore on her foot when we arrived.
SHE had been treating it and deciding on a  visit to the dreaded vet,
but didn't get around to it....knowing that Debbie at the kennel,
who breeds, shows, judges dogs
as well as runs the Puppy Preschool
would probably know what it was.
She did.
Diagnosed a grass seed, worked all weekend on Bella,
and presented HER with the offending seed.
Here it is between an American quarter and Australian 5c coin
for scale.

We call this arrow grass, because it burrows in the skin and can travel through the body.
SHE is very good at checking our fur after a run in the bush,
but missed this one.
Debbie's had several encounters with these little buggers and knew exactly what to do.......without any charge!
We love Debbie.

SHE's been slacking on the housekeeping.

Bella

How can I do security duty through this??!!

5:30 a.m.

We're out securing the boundaries.  No cats!
 But wait!
What is that strange thing on the other side of the fence!

Alert the neighbourhood!
...And everyone on our side of the river.
A clear and present DANGER!

Luckily the people who live there were gone for the weekend.
SHE doesn't think they would
have liked the early morning wake-up call.
Dui's alarm was cut short....

Then it was off to the river.  Here comes Kelly, Dui is in his 'ambush' position!
GAME ON!

The Adventure of our.....

green,  alligator crocodile lizard dinosaur  squeaky thingy.
It has three very loud squeaks....well, only two now.
We don't play with it much, only when SHE is
watching the news or and interview or on the phone.

The other morning, while waiting for HER to get
ready for our walk, I Roxy, was running around
squeaking it.
And I dropped it out by our gate.
SHE picked it up to throw into the carport
But, threw it ON the roof!

SHE said SHE wasn't going to get it for us.
But several days later, after a wind storm....
we found it on the patio!

The wind must have blown it from way up on the roof!

Anyway, I picked it up and it was still squeaky....and cleaner than when it was thrown.
The wind gave it back to us!  Thank you wind.
So now that we've posed with it,
hand over the treats!
